  3. Today is our 3rd day in Madrid & we've seen the major sights, from Picaso's Guernica, the Prado Museum, the Royal Palace, Cathedral, and Temple de Debod to political rally's, Hare Krishna parade with floats, & prostitutes by the dozen. It's now Sat evening, the plaza in front of the hotel is teeming with people of all ages. There are small groups singing, a drum corps down the block, and hundreds eating & drinking along the pedestrian mall

  4. I've missed many days! It is Sun nite in Granada, and we took it easy. First we did a city tour by trolley that was too fast over cobblestone streets on /very/ hard wooden benches. However, the views across the city were everything you could imagine. Narrow streets with buildings just high enough to block the sun & keep you cool, plazas full of families enjoying each other & their neighbors, churches, churches & more churches, homes built into the hillside, & hairpin turns on said trolley. Yikes!
We then walked to a large plaza for a delicious lunch. I had a platter of grilled vegetables drizzled with olive oil that were amazing! We split up after lunch, some for siesta & a few for a walk.
Mary & I did some shopping, saw a Flamenco demo on a plaza, & visited the famous cathedral. The cathedral is beautiful in some areas and almost garish in others.
